BiographyDr. James L. Rivers, Jr. was born in Georgia. He completed his internship and residency at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Following three years of active duty on the Monterey Peninsula in California, Dr. Rivers, his wife, and their two sons came to Annapolis in 1971. He is past president of the Maryland OB/GYN Society and had the distinct honor to serve as Chief of the OB-GYN service at Anne Arundel Medical Center for five years. Dr. Rivers was also a Team Leader for Women's and Children's Services at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Dr. Rivers' clinical interests included post-menopausal medicine, including hormone replacement therapy, osteoporosis and urogynecological issues. Now that he is retired, as of June 30, 2016, Dr. Rivers enjoys both golf, fishing, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
