Biography

Dr. Carella joined Luminis Health OBGYN Annapolis Summer 2025. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) and her medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, where she served as administrative chief resident in her final year. Following residency, Dr. Carella relocated to Maryland with her husband, an officer in the United States Air Force.

Dr. Carella has advanced training and certification in Da Vinci robotic surgery, specializing in minimally invasive gynecological procedures. She is passionate about providing individualized, comprehensive care to women at all stages of life. Her areas of interest include: high-risk obstetrics, fibroids, polycystic ovarian syndrome, abnormal uterine bleeding, menopause, and hormone replacement therapy.

When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Carella enjoys cheering on the Virginia Tech Hokies at football games, traveling, running, and spending quality time with her dachshund, friends, and family.
