Notice of Retirement: Dr. Karen Hardart

After 26 incredible years of dedicated service, Dr. Karen Hardart will be retiring from Luminis Health Annapolis OBGYN effective January 1, 2025. Dr. Hardart has made an extraordinary impact on the women in our community, and while we are saddened to see her go, we are grateful for the compassionate care she has provided over the years. We know this retirement will give her the well-deserved time to spend with her family. Please rest assured that her patients will continue to receive excellent care from her trusted colleagues, and we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all.

To all of Rene Smit’s wonderful patients,

Rene Smit, Certified Nurse Midwife is retiring at the end of January 2023.

Rene has made tremendous contributions towards Women’s Health for over 41 years and has been with our practice since 2002- over 20 years!

She even worked internationally in South Africa for four years.

She wishes to thank you all for trusting her with your healthcare needs for so many years!

We are going to miss her beautiful accent and smiling face, but she certainly deserves to have this time with family after all her years of dedication to her profession!

If you are concerned about a potential exposure to COVID-19 or have symptoms of COVID-19, please reach out to your primary care for testing and refer to the CDC website below for quarantine recommendations.

If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in pregnancy, we recommend managing your symptoms with Tylenol, hydration, and/or any of the approved medication listed on our website below.

Please seek immediate medical attention at your nearest Emergency Room if you have:

 

-Trouble breathing

-Persistent pain or pressure in the chest

-New confusion

-Inability to wake or stay awake

-Pale, gray, or blue-colored skin, lips, or nail beds, depending on skin tone

 

If you have an upcoming appointment with us, we ask that you please reschedule 10 days out from the start of symptoms or 10 days out from your positive test result. If you would like a telemedicine visit instead, please make sure you have a blood pressure cuff available at your home.

Farewell Dr. Repka

To the valued patients of Dr. Mark Repka,

 

Many of you know that Dr. Mark Repka retired from his 32 year OB-GYN career at Luminis Health OB-GYN – Annapolis as of January 1, 2021.

 

During the pandemic it was difficult to have the celebration he well deserved, but he wants to thank all of you for allowing him the privilege of being your OB-GYN care provider for so many years!

 

He would have preferred to tell you in person, but he wants to extend his gratitude, wishing each of you health and happiness as he begins this new chapter of his life.

SAFE- YOUR SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY

While many things has changed in the past few months, our commitment to providing you safe, high-quality care remains. Please know that if you visit us for care, your health and safety are our first priority. We are confident that we are doing everything we can to provide a safe environment for you, including:

  • Masking of all patients and employees, providing one if needed
  • Extensive cleaning of exam rooms before every appointment
  • Frequent disinfection of common areas, including waiting rooms, elevators and bathrooms
  • Daily screening of all staff, following CDC and State guidelines
  • Daily screening of patients before coming to the office
  • Protected check-in and check-out procedures
  • “No Waiting Room” procedures when feasible to reduce your exposure to other patients
  • Visitor restrictions to lessen exposure to other people

READY- TELEHEALTH OFFERS CONVENIENT, SAFE CARE OPTIONS

You can manage many of your health care needs from the comfort of your own home with telehealth video visits. Many patients turn to video visits for routine appointments, evaluations, and prescription refills. And, managing your health through a telehealth video visit has never been easier. Call your providers office to discuss whether telehealth is an option for you.

All four of our offices are open to provide you safe expert care, including preventative appointments, select surgeries, procedures, and diagnostic testing.  Visitation

In order to have this visit you will need to download VidyoConnect from the Google play store or Apples App store. You will receive a text message from your provider at the start of the visit.
