To all of Rene Smit’s wonderful patients,
Rene Smit, Certified Nurse Midwife is retiring at the end of January 2023.
Rene has made tremendous contributions towards Women’s Health for over 41 years and has been with our practice since 2002- over 20 years!
She even worked internationally in South Africa for four years.
She wishes to thank you all for trusting her with your healthcare needs for so many years!
We are going to miss her beautiful accent and smiling face, but she certainly deserves to have this time with family after all her years of dedication to her profession!
Please join us in wishing her well!

Cervical cancer can be detected with screening tests: a Pap test and a human papillomavirus (HPV) test. These can be done as part of a pelvic exam. Most doctors suggest that anyone with a cervix begin getting tested at age 21 and repeat every few years until age 65, but ask your doctor what’s right for you. Learn more about cervical cancer screenings.
